Iron Man (2008) - Movie Review
This movie is a must see. Of course every comic book reader will say that, they already know and familiarized the story and its heroes. This movie is something different however. If you’re looking for entertainment and a catchy story along with a lot of action and nice acting, you may want to consider this movie for the night. I recommend bringing all your friends.
The story starts out with a trip to the Middle East where Tony Stark displayed his newly designed weapon called the Jericho. However he was captured by a terrorist group and was forced to create the Jericho for them. The terrorist group supplied him with everything he needed, however to Tony’s surprise; all the supplies and materials were from his own company.
In utter confusion and a lot of questions to be left unanswered until further into the movie, Tony uses the materials given to him to create a suit of armor to fight the terrorists and fights his way out. He returns home safe and sound to eat a cheeseburger and to investigate how the terrorist got a hold of his weapons as well as to create a suit of armor, just like he did in the cave, and to upgrade it from the original model he made in the cave to which we know as, Iron Man.
Well, there was no doubt, I was going to like the film and enjoy it, and hell yes I did enjoy it. However, I have constantly bitched about the fact that they modernized the movie from its original comic book story from the Vietnam War to our little so called war against terrorist groups in the burning sands of our enemies in the Middle East. Now normally people will be saying our enemies are the Iraqi’s or another named country, but no people, we are only fighting the Extremist rulers who basically treat civilians like crap, dictator rulers. We aren’t fighting a country. =O
When I first saw the trailer of the movie, I was pissed at the fact they modernized the story a bit. I won’t lie, I constantly bitched about this to my friends that they are making this film to dominate a message. “America owns you!” Well, I was completely DEAD wrong, that wasn’t why they modernized it. It was simply because it’s in our time and it’s reasonable. I personally believed they were going to make the people, who live in the Middle East, look like savage animals that are bent on destroying the world, but no, they included a legitimate scene showing how life was in the Middle East, the suffrage of innocent people and what they have to go through for many years in dictator rules of Extremists, terrorist groups, and other forceful parties.
This movie may not seem a lot, yes another Marvel creation from comics to film, but I would recommend everybody to see this. The story is great, the action is filling, concept makes sense, the acting is original and clever, finally Tony Stark is a bad ass douche bag and everybody loves him and after you watch this movie, you are going to wish you were him.
The movie’s overall rating according to Sidd, 5 out of 5 stars! Great Job!

The reason the series was first based around Vietnam was because they were going for an anti-communist message. So I guess in a way they just updated to today's settings, go figure. Good review Sidd. I would have given it a 4.5 only because I didn't see the suit as much as I really wanted to. But besides that you are 100% correct. ALSO..it was Stan Lee..that was his name. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
