District 9 - Movie Review

Title: Regarding the District 9 Situation

Time: Friday April 11, 2010 10:03 P.M.

Well, the aliens were around ever since I can remember. I was born about 5 years after they crash landed at Johannesburg, South Africa in 1982. My dad told me about how the whole world literally stopped what they were doing and focused all their attention on the  massive spaceship which was just simply hovering over the city like God finally came to Earth.

Its pretty interesting to be in the first generation of children to encounter aliens because we tend to feel a bit more comfort-able then our parents do. We been living on Earth with the aliens all our lives that we just saw it as a natural occurrence. As me and my friends grew up, we were told to refer the aliens as Prawns. They looked like humanoid insects, kind of like a cockroach, but that's my opinion. None the less I’m probably more uglier anyway.

My friends and I would literally have a whole line of discussions about the future of Earth itself if the aliens were to continue to live here. We would predict that either we or future generation of kids would go to school with aliens someday and many other surprising changes in order to co-exist with the aliens. I honestly wouldn’t want to go to war with them. Based on the news reported to us about their weapon design, I would never want to mess with that, especially the gravity gun…I hear someone got killed by a pig when it was launched from the gun. I would never want to mess with that.

Well, as my dad told me, he said that the military cut their way into the spaceship and found a mass amount of Prawns just nearly dying of starvation, so they setup an area below the spaceship and called it District 9, and sheltered the Prawns until they can raise them to good healthy condition.

It was suppose to be the beginning of a bright new future for mankind and the Prawns, working together to live in harmony, paving the way for a better tomorrow, however, it never turned out that way. District 9 became a slum for the Prawns and was boxed up with fences and high military guards.

People are wondering what is going on? The media is telling us one thing and the illegal underground news feed is giving us real horrifying stories about what we the human society is really doing to the aliens. It was said that they were experimenting on the aliens, trying to figure out how humans can use alien weapons, and even murdering them, all in the name of research and advancement. Now that's fucked up, your destroying a person’s life.

And then came an organization called MNU, Multinational United. I personally believed they were a bunch of faggets thinking they can do whatever the hell they want with the aliens without their given rights. I mean come on now, their spaceship isn’t working, they got no where to go, and now they want them to move 200 miles away from the city. They planned to move them to a new shelter and call it District 10.

While MNU tried to evict the Prawns out of District 9, something happened to one of the workers. I don’t remember what his name was but he was in charge of the operation. I think his name was Wikus van de Mery? Or was it Merwe? Names really don’t mean anything nowadays, but anyway, we were told that he had sex with a Prawn and got infected that made him mutate into a Prawn. Everybody was shocked by the images of him having sex doggy style with a Prawn, which was literally in every magazine, newspaper, and the internet. It was actually pretty hilarious when people made comics, parodies, flashes, etc etc. The best was AmazaFAIL’s new song, “Prawna Lover”.

Then come the conspiracy theorist talking about the mysterious control ship that fell off the mothership, I can’t believe they made an entire 20 minute documentary about some mysterious object falling from the mothership. Then there was one about how Wikus was actually tortured into being a research specimen for MNU, one clip they showed of him firing the alien weapons looked pretty real…but then again it may have been edited with special effects. Later it talked about him escaping from the secret lab 4 stories under MNU.

I honestly don’t know what to believe, the year is 2010, the spaceship that was hovering over south africa was said to have started and left earth shortly after. Maybe Wikus managed to escaped MNU and ran away to the spaceship. Not sure why he left 1.9 million Prawns on Earth, should have taken them with him or something. Now the population is 2.5 million in District 10, where they were all moved to, and their clearly here to stay now, since the spaceship is gone. Or maybe it wasn’t Wikus, maybe whoever was the pilot of that ship finally got it to work and left to get help. However…if the underground source is right and the media was lying to us the whole time, I wonder if they would wage war on us?

Who knows what the future might hold. Until then, I should just stop thinking about current affairs and just focus on my school work and how I’m going to shoot this film for my final exam. Hope my friends are available Wednesday Night. Damn…its getting late, there's so much I wanted to say, but I blanked out, I always seem to do this, maybe I’ll write down main ideas and topic focuses before I make a blog before hand.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – Movie Review

Before I review the movie, let’s talk about the book a little bit and don’t mind my fake and poor British accent.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the 6^th book in the Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling. Like all Harry Potter books, it had many people in excitement upon its release date four years ago, July 16, 2005. The great part about Harry Potter was the fact that it introduced an entire generation of children into reading. However, it didn’t stop there; the series gave these children a sense of vision in creativity over the course of their lives in literature.

There are countless of fan fictions, fan films, scripts, plays, and even a dictionary relating to the Harry Potter series. Rowling has literally changed the lives of many children and adults around the world and I am certainly impressed to see the power of literature at work.

But, why am I talking about the book instead of the movie? Everybody already knows about what happens in the book, how it differs from the movie, and how great the book truly is to all Harry Potter fanatics. However, what some people didn’t know about was the mischief behind the selling of the 6^th and 7^th book. You see some people thought it would be hilarious to dress up in black clothing, get a loud speaker, a friend with a camera, and of course have the internet as their audience, to witness something pretty messed up.

This person in black ninja like clothing also inspired many people around the globe to perform the same stunt on the 7^th book release. What he did was this, got a list of important facts, went into a crowded book store, lifted his microphone, and simple said, “Attention Customers, SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE!” If you heard the spoilers on that release date, I feel your pain. <3

And now for the film review:

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince continues the story of telling us a bit more about Tom Riddle, who is later known as Lord Voldemort, and his past life and how he came into Hogwarts as well as progressing to be one of the darkest wizards Dumbledore ever encountered. In order to defeat Voldemort, they needed to know the past, and the only person able to give that information was Voldemort’s favored teacher in Hogwarts, Professor Slughorn who has a profession in Potions. Dumbledore and Harry visit him at his house to get him to go back to Hogwarts to teach, at first he refused, but eventually gave in and prompted for a raise in his salary.

Surely I thought the story would strictly be about Voldemort, however branched off into another matter. As ordered by the Voldemort, Draco was selected for a special assignment, to kill Dumbledore. Draco’s mother, Narcissa Malfoy, and Bellatrix Lestrange, the first female Death Eater, went to Snape’s home. Narcissa pleaded to Snape to protect Draco from harm, and Draco was not able to kill Dumbledore, he would do it instead. Snape said he will protect Draco, but Bellatrix suggested that an unbreakable vow would insure his words were true.

So, basically, the movie had two plots working with one another, one was where Dumbledore and Harry were seeking to find the truth in the past to defeat Voldemort while the other is where Voldemort was ordering Draco to kill Dumbledore. An interesting film, I never read the book, I seem to have been miss informed about life considering I lived in the era where Harry Potter was created and never heard of it until the 3^rd movie came out. Anyway, great film, glad I watched it twice, missed a few things the first time I watched it, and the second time cleared up everything. Go watch it! Sidd Approved ^^

 

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen – Movie Review

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) is an action pack CGI/live action film that continues the story about the raging war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, but takes us back into an earlier time in history where an ancient race of transforming robots landed on Earth. These ancient robotic beings travel to the far reaches of space in hope drain energy from stars and convert them into a resource material called Energon in order to power the AllSpark (seen as the cube in the previous movie). In this ancient era, the Dynasty of the Primes are the ones in power of the weapon they called the Sun Harvester which they use to drain the stars in the universe.

The Dynasty agreed they will only take the stars of uninhabited solar systems, basically stars with planets that have no living organisms; however one of the members in the Dynasty came to Earth and wanted to drain the sun while there was still life on the planet and was later named and known as “The Fallen”. For his own views and hatred toward the planet Earth and its inhabitants, began to construct the Sun Harvester, but was stopped by the Primes. In order to save Earth from The Fallen, the Dynasty of the Primes sacrificed themselves and hidden away the Matrix of Leadership, the key that powers the Sun Harvester machine.

And so, many generations later, The Fallen returns to Earth to finish what he started in order to gain Energon and build up his army.

Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBeouf, who in the previous film becomes involved in a war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, has grown up and was heading to college. In order to maintain his relationship with Mikaela Banes, played by Megan Fox, they would have to have to communicate through webcam chat over the internet (which is amazingly popular trend to do when couples, friends, or relatives are far apart from each other).

Before he went off to college, he noticed that he still had a piece of the AllSpark and when he touched and looked at it, the AllSpark fragment reacted and gave Sam some sort of symbolic map to where the Matrix of Leadership is located. The fragment became too hot for Sam to hold onto and fell to the floor burning its way to the kitchen where it reacted to metal and made everyday electronic kitchen machines into transformers and caused a heck of a mess.

So skipping ahead a bit, Sam travels to college. They show us the typical university college life which I still have to witness for myself if this is what really goes on (x.x), with typical weird roommates, hot college guys and girls, parties, and of course class lectures with 100-200 students in an auditorium. This is the scene that cracked me up the most. A teacher walks in eating an apple and talks about physics. He takes a bite, drops the apple, and kicks it to a hot young lady at the front row who says thank you and the teacher replies “Finish it for me”. The way the angles in those shots played reminded me of an adult film-like setting, so I nearly bursted out laughing, covering my mouth as hard as I can while the audience in the theatre room was quiet as hell. The woman next to me gave me a dirty look (They eventually walked out in the middle of the movie x.x).

Anyway, during class, Sam had a weird occurrence of reading the entire class text book in 5 seconds and going nuts claiming that the teacher was wrong. With a freak-out during class, he walks out and wonders what is going on with him and what the symbols he is seeing mean.

Now without spoiling a bunch of things for the movie, I will stop here about the story telling, the film is amazingly awesome, a great movie to watch that has LOTS of action and transforming ^^. There are many scenes that will leave you laughing pretty hard and really get you into the movie that you won’t even have time to eat your snack because you don’t want to miss ANYTHING!

10/10 Great Job at creating this movie!

Oh I forgot one thing…the CGI on Megan Fox is amazing, it’s too real to be real!

Land of the Lost (2009) – Movie Review

Land of the Lost is originally a kids television show that aired back in 1974. It was produced by the Krofft brothers, Sid and Marty. The characters that starred on the show were the Marshall family, Rick, Will, and Holly Marshall, who were on a ordinary expedition when suddenly something went wrong and found themselves falling randomly into a waterfall. When they awoke, they came to a strange world where they came face to face with dinosaurs, primate called the Pakuni (which were kind of interrupted as early forms human beings) , and the lizard species, the Sleestak.

A remake of the 1974 series was done in the early 1990’s which became one of my FAVORITE kid shows. I always wanted that DAGGER. >.< They only changed the names of the characters with a few more additional characters to the cast.

Now, in mythology or in science fiction, there came a time when people have talked about early human lifestyles and what type of other species that existed. I’m not too familiar with the subject, but they were labeled as the reptilian humanoids. Basically there saying that back in the day, human beings weren’t the only superior race with the ability to dominate the Earth. However, there are thousands of articles portraying another story saying we evolved from them or the unknown wars that early human beings won in order to continue to survive up until now.

In many cases, I do remember reptile like human beings used in video games during my SNES era. A great example would be Chrono Trigger, where you travel to nearly 10,000 BC (I think) to help Ayla, the prehistoric warrior fight the mighty lizard king that threaten to kill off the human race.

Anywhoooooo…

Land of the Lost in 2009 became a big budget film starring Will Ferrell as Dr. Rick Marshall, Anna Friel as Holly Cantrell, and Danny McBride as Will Stanton. The film is directed by Brad Silberling. If your a fan of the original TV show, this is a definite must see film due to the fact that most of things that occur during the film is based off the 1974 TV show.

The story starts out on television broadcast as Matt Lauer is hosting the Today show and is interviewing Dr. Rick Marshall. He discusses his research and asks him to explain it a little more in detail. Rick explains his theory on time warps and how it will save the world. After hearing about Rick’s theory, Matt was speechless and like everybody else, he labeled him as a nutcase and he's out of his mind. The interview went from bad to worse when Rick nearly attacked Matt.

Since that interview, Rick has been laughed at, and was nearly pushed down the latter in the science field to a teacher at George C. Page Museum where he gave his presentation about a device that can work to create time warps, the Tachyon amplifier. When all seemed lost for Rick, a very attractive woman came to his classroom and confronted him about his research. She introduced herself as Holly Cantrell and encouraged him to go back into his research. Rick had opposing decisions to whether or not continue his research and to create the device, but after a long night, Rick developed the Tachyon amplifier.

With no time to waste Holly and Rick traveled out to seek out a signal which the amplifier can detect and exert the particles which cause a tear in time and space for developing time warps. They get a strong reading in a cave and see that it is a tourist attraction, The Devils Cave. They meet up with the tour guide, Will Stanton and they head out into the cave in a raft.

As they are traveling in the cave, the device reacts to nearby particles and cause the cave to shift in the water path’s movement. The raft was traveling on its own downward as Will claimed he doesn’t know what is going on. Eventually the raft is lead into a waterfall as everybody onboard it fall.

Our main characters wake up in a parallel world where many things from 10,000 BC to anything from modern time where piled like garbage around the sand. The view of the sky looked as if they were on a different planet.

Holly is amazed by the accomplishment and looks toward Rick and asks him what this all means now.

Rick promptly is proud of his accomplishment and entering the Land of the Lost and proudly shouts, “Yes…I know what this means, MATT LAUER CAN SUCK IT!”

Aside from everybody else that was watching the film, I enjoyed it very much. I knew this film was going to be awesome for me at least since I knew the entire back story and it was really fun to see something from my childhood brought to life in a parody like CGI film. I admit, there are parts in the film that seemed like…ugh or meh…but it was all for the randomness I guess. And there were hilarious parts such as the GIANT Enemy Crab. xD

All in all, I give it a 3 out of 5 based on only the film ALONE.

Star Trek "The Future Begins" - Movie Review

Star Trek, is an original American science fiction show created by Gene Roddenberry that aired in 1966 to 1969. The story took place in a futuristic universe about the captain and his crew members in a starship called The Enterprise in deep space. This original series was cancelled due to low ratings upon its third season however spawned a large fan based community which soon lead to conventional events and literally a society of star trek fan. Due to the massive popularity, people soon began to produce their own stories, short films, plays, and many more creative works of art.

Over the course of the many years, new shows were produced such as the animated series in 1973, Star Trek: Phase II in 1978, The Next Generation in 1987 (my birth year) to 1994, Deep Space Nine in 1993-1999, and Voyager in 1995-2001. Because of the fans, the Star Trek franchise has made it up to our present day.

And so…in 2009, in celebration of a 40 year old franchise, director J. J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures gives us “Star Trek” (2009).

As I was overly hyped out and excited, I noticed a very unfamiliar presence in the air. There were more old people then young people, but it didn’t bother me when I saw a group of thirty year olds cosplaying! Yes, I saw old school fanboys, and fangirls dressing up as their favorite character from Star Trek. It was pretty exciting to see this! I’m so glad my cousins came over all the way from Utica, NY. Because of them, I got to see one of the greatest summer movies to watch!

The story starts off as the film opens with the starship, USS Kelvin, where it was travelling in space until a massive black hole appeared out of nowhere. Moments later a space battle ship with very advanced weaponry comes out of the black hole firing at the USS Kelvin. The Captain of the mysterious battleship makes contact with Kelvin and orders that the captain come aboard their ship. The Captain had no choice, but to travel to an unknown ship in order to secure the safety of his crew, he tells First Commander James Tiberius Kirk he is now the captain and if he doesn’t return in 15 minutes, evacuate the ship. He heads out to the ship that is later told to the audience that it is a Romulan mining ship, the Narada, commanded by Nero, a rogue Romulan.

The captain of the Kelvin is killed in confusion when he was conversing with Nero when the captain revealed the year it currently was and where were they from. As Nero killed him, he ordered his men to destroy the USS Kelvin. Acting Captain James Kirk ordered everybody to evacuate as well as his pregnant wife who was delivering the baby at that moment. His wife shouts for Kirk to escape from the bridge to the escape pod, he tells her he will be on his way; he just needs to enable autopilot. As he attempts to tell the computer to set it to autopilot, the computer responds that the autopilot program was destroyed and only has manual pilot ability.

Over the headset, Kirk tells his wife that he can’t make it and hears the sound of his baby. As the ship is being destroyed, Kirk focuses on the conversation with his wife asking her what the name of the child should be. They decide that he should be named after himself, James Tiberius Kirk, Jim for short. The escape pod launches as the USS Kelvin is at a collision course for impact with Narada.

And so, from this point on, it explains the story of the child, James Tiberius Kirk, and his remarkable adventure that had very heart pounding thrill ride throughout the ENTIRE FILM from being a nobody to the future captain of the USS Enterprise and coming face to face with his unchangeable destiny.

I won’t be talking more about the story because I’ll just be giving out spoilers. Anyway, on to the next thing, seeing Zachary Quinto, the guy who plays Syler in Heroes, plays as Spock who is known to become the 1st Commander of the USS Enterprise (Co-Captain). Seeing him in the trailer, I laughed so hard, but when I was watching this film, he really did disappear into his role. He is definitely a great actor and has a lot potential for future films.

Asides from seeing Zachary, there is someone else in the film that made the audience literally pop their eye balls!!!!! I won’t spoil it, this is part of the movie experience, and when you see that person, YES that IS the ORIGINAL actor from the 1960 Star Trek series! ^_^

Sidd gives this movie a 10/10! I WILL WATCH IT AGAIN! INVITE ME IF YOU ARE GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Toxic Avenger - Musical

"The Toxic Avenger," a musical comedy romance story shown live at George Street Playhouse. The play is directed by John Rando and works with David Saint, the artistic director, and Todd Schmidt, the managing director to create of the best musical plays theatre has to offer. The kind of theatre that the show was displayed on was the thrust theatre along with a very cleaver and unique set on stage. The audience at the time was ranged from nearly all ages. There are a lot of features and elements in the play that made it so wonderful and enjoying to every individual.

The story is focused mainly on Melvin Ferd the Third and Sarah. Melvin is a kind young man who wants to save New Jersey from its toxic environment. He has a real affectionate feeling for Sarah who is a very attractive blonde woman who happens to be blind. At the beginning of the play, a couple of bullies were harassing Sarah as Melvin stood up and told them to leave her alone. The situation escalated into Melvin revealing how he really felt about Sarah. Awkwardness came about as the bullies left, Sarah told Melvin that she is going to pretend she didn't hear anything. Towards the end of the scene Melvin told Sarah he will save New Jersey from its toxic environment and was going to see Babs Belgoody, the mayor of Tromaville.

He goes to the mayor about the issue to reveal he knows about her involvement with the toxic waste dump. The mayor panics and decides to make Melvin the deputy to clean up the mess.

However, she tells the bullies to kill him as soon as possible. If the public were to find out she is involved, she wouldn't be able to become governor.

Melvin is in the toxic waste dump as the bullies spot him and throw him head first into a toxic barrel to kill him.

Sarah was walking by as the bullies spot her. They harass her and decide to have a little fun which leads up to a point where they were going to rape her. Before anything could happen, a huge sound was heard and out of the barrel where Melvin was thrown into came out a very strong, brave, and ugly monster, The Toxic Avenger. He jumps down to kill the bullies to save Sarah. She is relieved and automatically falls for him.

I’m not going to continue onward telling you what happens in the story, go watch it, its definitely worth it! Especially if its for a group hang out or a romantic date!

The cast of the play was only five people who acted out multiple characters. David Josefsberg, labeled as white dude, and Demond Green, labeled as black dude, played nearly all the minor characters such as the bullies, workers, Mexican hired workers, couple, backstage dancers, cross dressing dancers, barbershop workers, and many more. Nancy Opel played a Nun, Melvin's mother, Ma Ferd, and Mayor Belgoody. Nick Cordero played Melvin Ferd the Third and Toxy the Toxic Avenger. The beautiful Audra Blaser played Sarah throughout the play.

The performance of all the actors is one hundred percent on the dot perfect. In a personal view, I found no flaw. All the actors disappeared into their role to which at some point of the story thought their were more then five people in the cast. It is highly believable that the actors were real people, an example would be Sarah's actions in acting blind, she would go off stage, the wrong way, drop items where they shouldn't be, and even talk to a complete stranger thinking it was someone she knew.

The language use is really off the bat for people ages thirteen and up. There is some parts where it may seem inappropriate for children. Especially one scene were the mayor and Melvin's mom called each other bitch, slut, whore, and many other nasty sexual theme remarks. It was amazingly outrageous to see the scene when the actor Nancy Opel playing both the mayor and Melvin’s mother at the same time. The audience was really blown away by that performance.

There is even a portrayed sex scene between the scientist and the mayor and the flashing of the mayor's chest. Some of Sarah's scene are sexually intentional from when she is unconscious and spreads her legs, seduces Toxy when he came over for tea, and the Oprah dance scene where she moves her body.

The story's genre is believed to be a comedy romance. The story is focused on Melvin and Sarah's relationship as well as the comedy between all the situations occurring that just can't make the audience stop laughing. The story does complement the subject a lot, though at times it may seem like a horror show, but they would add in comedy in every single action.

The set design is lead by Beowulf Boritt. The set was uniquely designed, on the center of the stage, you will see a circular motion of barrels along with barrels around the side, a hallow green light of water surrounding the stage. The set seriously looked the part for the play's illusion to be performed. When a new scene would arise, they would spin the circular barrel and open it up or turn the barrels over to look the scenes for the library, the office, or Sarah's house. A cleaver and brilliant way to display scenes without much hassle to move things around.

The costume design is done by David Woolard. The costumes definitely fit the character's part. There was diversity between the back stage dancers toward the main character's dancing. The nerd costume and Toxic Avenger costume seemed similar to play its part to let the audience know what happened to Melvin.

Lighting was brilliantly done by Ken Posner. The green hallow look of the water to the walls in the background, the reflection of the water, and finally the lights flowing through the smoke. Everything was preset and made to perfection.

The band that played the music was half hidden above the set. Some of the people in the audience didn't notice the band playing however there was some interaction between the guitarist and the main characters toward the end of the play. The music fit the part perfectly toward my opinion.

The fight direction was done by Rick Sordelet. Even though it was intentionally suppose to look fake, it was made believable from the position of where the action was done. It was close to believable when Toxy was attacking the bullies. It was well done to hide and perform such actions in a live play.

The hair and wig designer is Mark Adam Rampmeyer. All characters had believable hair on them, but what made it most hysterical was when Nancy had to play both Ma Ferd and the Mayor, they made a specific wig and costume design where half of her body was Ma Ferd and the Mayor. She would then fight herself which left the audience laughing throughout the scene.

The director, John Rando, clearly handles every sense to transition toward the next. At times there is a time when the audience is engaged such that part when Toxy is on a killing rampage or when Ma Ferd said its physically impossible for her and the mayor to be in the same room. As far as wishing the actors to do something, I think there really wasn't a moment like that, the director did a real well job at choreographing moment among the play.

The meaning of the story is generally predictable and yet at the same time complex. It's obvious the story is telling us to care about the environment, yet at the same time telling us that love can be found in the most unexpected ways possible. It gives hope to those that feel they aren't meant to be loved because of physical features. In my opinion that's something really emotionally hopefully to give toward anybody in the world.

My overall experience for seeing this play is so great words really cannot describe how much of a good time I had. This is my first experience to see a musical play and I hope to see more again. I loved the story, the in-depth context the story is saying, and the performance which created so much humor in both vocal tone and physical movement.

It's by far a new thing for me to experience live play then seeing a movie and I seriously prefer to see more live performances.

Rear Windows (1954) - Time Blogger

Here I am in front of the movie theater as I see a news paper dating the year 1954. I look up to see many people in fancy clothing entering the theater so I thought I check it out. The feature film was Rear Windows by Alfred Hitchcock. I saw the ticket price and was stunned by how cheap it was compared to what year I am actually from. The price of a fucking hotdog, just one, (1), uno, and a small drink is 14.99 plus tax. What the fucking bullshit. Attention people, it is better to sneak in food then to pay bullshit to retard prices for just food. Although, it is 1954, the prices for everything is CHEAP!!! And I brung 5 bucks with me!!! I'm the richest man alive.

Rear Windows, a 1954 suspense film by the amazing director, Alfred Hitchcock. The film was created solely in Paramount Pictures’ Studio. The screen writers are Cornell Woolrich and John Michael Hayes who work with Robert Burks, the cinemato-grapher, and George Tomasini, the film editor.

The story is about Jeffries, played by James Stewart, recovering from a severe injury to nearly half his body. He is wheel chair bound living in an apartment called Greenwich Village. He really has nowhere to go and thus spends his time looking outside the window. It was his television of entertainment to view a hot young lady dancing in her underwear who he calls Miss Torso, a woman who lives alone who he calls Miss Lonely-Hearts, a songwriter who plays the piano, married couples, a mysterious salesman with a in home wife.

He sees their life and their many actions as days go by, however one night, he sees the salesman making late night trips. He tells Stella, the home care nurse who is played by Thelm Ritter, about the odd trips and then later tells Lisa Fremont, who is played by Grace Kelly. At first the thought it was nothing to be troubled by, but after careful spying, all three characters soon to give interest and wonder what happen to the salesman’s wife.

Jeffries calls a detective, who also happens to be his friend, Doyle, played by Wendel Corey, about it and asks if he can do an investigation. There wasn’t much he can work from considering there was a long process before a warrant to search the salesmen’s apartment was signed and made. With no help from proper authorities, they decide to take action and solve the mystery themselves.

The music is pretty dynamic with the movie. From the beginning to the end, all the major background music smoothly transitions between each other to create a setting that is understandable when the time arrives. The music composer is Franz Waxman.

The scene work is really creative among the little space they used in creating the apartments. The way they set up all the apartments is to give our main character, as well as the audience, a chance to see every character in their living style through large windows which are sometimes covered with curtains.

The costume design is by Edith Head. The costumes are really just ordinary everyday clothing that is used in a day by day basis. Lisa was the only one who had somewhat of the high class clothing during the time with wide variety of fancy and unique style of dresses.

The pace of the movie lives up the title of suspense. It was slow enough to understand the film and fast enough to grasp the desire of all the characters needs and wants.

Overall, I enjoyed watching this movie. I’ve never actually seen Alfred Hitchcock’s work, only heard of him, but now I am interested in what other films he has created. The story was believable and the acting was perfect. Finally, it’s funny how a hunch can go so far into solving a murder mystery.

Watchmen Review (2009)

“Watchmen” (2009) is a superhero sci-fi thriller film directed by Zack Snyder, who also directed the film “300”, who works with producers Lawrence Gordon, Lloyd Levin, and Deborah Snyder. The screen writers are David Hayter, Alex Tse, and Dave Gibbons. Alan Moore was not credited however was involved.

The story is about a group of superheroes and their lives in the world set in an alternative 1985 era where Richard Nixon is elected for a 3^rd term as president of the United States. Masked superheroes have become outlawed as most of our crime fighting heroes retire from their roles as the tension between the US and the USSR (Russia) are heated up in a threat that their maybe a nuclear war.

The superheroes in Watchmen date back all the way into the 1940s. In the beginning of the movie, while the opening credits were being presented, the film showed us a brief history of the “MinuteMen”.

Like all superheroes, they wanted to save the world however, as we all learned in life, we can only save and intervene for a portion of time until something goes wrong. The intro showed us the timeline of superheroes from 1940 to 1985, where one particular superhero, Edward Blake by the alias “The Comedian”, has been an active hero throughout the entire time.

The story continues as mysterious person breaks into Blake’s place and successfully kills him by throwing him out the window. Well not be into the point, there was a big fight scene. The masked vigilante, Walter Kovacs with the alias “Rorschach”, begins to investigate the murder and discovers that the man who died was “The Comedian”.

He proceeds to warn his ex-partners about the murder and that someone is out to kill the group of ex-superheroes. He investigates further to find out why and visits Blake’s retired arch villain, Moloch the Mystic, but finds that he has nothing to do with it and explains about his last encounter with Blake and reveals that he was on his bedside crying and explaining that everything was “One big joke.”

Dr. Jon Osterman is a scientist who took part in the research and experiment in a nuclear research center, however was accidently locked in the test chamber and was disintegrated into thin air. His co-workers saw his body disappear as he screamed in pain.

They pronounced him dead, however came back as a God-like man with abnormal powers in the cafeteria of the facility, he names himself Dr. Manhattan. A scientist with a genius mind and God-like powers, this was the being of perfection. Dr. Manhattan has powers beyond your wildest dream, he can make himself tall, melt objects, and even duplicate himself.

Unfortunately, he lacks the understanding of emotion and cannot seem maintain a relationship with Laurie "Jupiter" Juspezyk, with the alias Silk Spectre II. They break up unfortunately after trying to have sex when Jupiter finds out that he was working on the Energy Reactor with one form of his body and trying to have sex with her at the same time. Shortly after the breakup between Jupiter and Dr. Manhattan, she goes to visit Daniel Dreiberg, as ex-superhero who calls himself Nite Owl II. She had nowhere to go considering she only knew superheroes in her life.

The Energy Reactor is made of the same particles and elements Dr. Manhattan is made out of. They call it Sub Quantum Unifying Intrinsic Devices (S.Q.U.I.D.s). It is funded by a successful business man and retired superhero, Adrian Veidt, who revealed to the world he was Ozymandias by going public and revealing his face from his mask. He aids Dr. Manhattan with the funds to create the energy reactor in order to provide free energy for everybody.

The mystery behind the death of the comedian continues on as the story explains the lives of our heroes in their past and present life.

How much does a previous generation of heroes influence the future outcomes?

Are we able to continue fighting evil forever?

What do you think society will do when time goes by, as you grow old, and make mistakes?

Is it really safe to call them our heroes?

Will we ever learn and understand society as a whole and in a personal level?

How much evil can a villain do to push a hero over the limit to actual commit murder?

Is our answer to global unity in the hands of global destruction?

Watchmen, a story of individual vigilantes fighting in the name of honor, justice, and righteousness from a personal level to save humanity.

This movie was long, but was perfectly done. It left no holes. A masterpiece and great original work. A must see. Seriously.

4.) You never heard of these superhero characters and found it difficult.

5.) You can’t watch the whole movie through and lose focus.

This is it, my first episode of my first machinima series. It took me 6 long months to finally get it done and I’m very pleased that it is. Through the course of the production, I learned new skills in editing and strengthened my usage in Photoshop. I had a lot of fun with my friends acting out the scenes and creating the voices. Thank you so much SJ, JB, IVY, JACK, and JAZZ, it means a lot to me and thank you very much for helping me create something I’ve always wanted to do since 2005.

I’ve always wanted to create a Halo Machinima Story of my own, I even wrote a story about it, but it got deleted when my hard drive crashed. I only remember so much from what I wrote, but trying to bring it back piece by piece. I was inspired by really good halo film makers like Jamie98s and the people from Hollywood Halo, I’ve always wanted to join such a crew, but knew nothing about halo video making. But anyway, their inspiration and dedication lead me to creating my own series. Thank you very much Jamie98s, the people of Hollywood Halo, and of course Rooster Teeth.

Quick Review of the Characters/Story (spoiler, suggest you watch video then read)

The story is told in the view points of the soldiers at war who are risking their lives the most.

My story is about a soldier whose code is Z97, who is confused about his place in the world and why is he in the war when he has nothing to fight for. He continues to seek the answer of his purpose in life through the battles he volunteers and hopes to die in, but seems to be unable to end his life so easily. He meets up with another soldier whose code is G70, an ace driver, who is very relaxed in the most dangerous scenarios and keeps things very optimistic and simple. They introduce each other and decide to ignore their order and proceed to do what they want to do and lead to discovering a mysterious orb with artificial intelligence equal to a normal person. Their mission was to destroy it, but instead rescues it. The consequences of saving something may lead to dear tragic confrontations; however everything happens for a reason.

This episode may not have as much of a story basis, but is packed with a lot of action and a lot of things to question the audience of this alternative universe’s society and their world is like. I will try to focus more on story in the next episode, but I can’t guarantee much, I can’t predict the future.

Equus Play Review and Suicidal Heroes Episode 1 Update

Well, I could say I was busy with school and all that for not blogging, but fuck it, I'll tell the truth, I'm a lazy, no good, lieing, retarded, son of a bitch. I pissed off a couple of people (while I luled), hung up on people who call to ask if I feel ditched, and gave the finger to Mr. LonelyHearts to fuck off. Then again I would be giving the finger to myself, because I'm that person. [readers reaction: =O No waiiiiiiii]

Oh you better believe it, eh ehe eh, meh, well anyways, I've been producing Suicidal Heroes for a while now, in fact, its been 4 whole months since the start of the project and we finally hit the 50% mark. Yes we are half way there. The current length is 10 minutes and some seconds. I have just completed Scene 5 footage creation as it now needs voice over edit. There is still a lot more work to get done, but hope to speed up the production concidering I have a break from school.
LoL, maybe it will be ready by the time my birthday arrives in February. xD

Equus



“Equus,” a very dark and complex drama story performed live at Broadhurst Theatre on 44th street in New York City. (Ticket was $116.50) The play is directed by Thea Sharrock and works with Susie Cordon, the production stage manager, and Joey Parnes, the general manager. The type of theatre Broadhurst Theatre provides is the proscenium theatre with its stage props of four rectangular blocks and background stable for where the horses stay. The audience in appearance seemed to be ranged from young adults (students) to older adults at the age of eighty. There are many aspects to the play which seemed to have great relations to the stories we know in the bible as well as in-depth and complex character development that leaves the audience startled.

The story is about a psychiatrist, who goes by the name of Martin Dysart, who helps children with psychological problems. He was assigned to help a patient with a very deep, dark, gloomy, and complex mind. The patient’s name is Alan Strang of the age of 17, son of Frank and Sora Strang, the parents of the young patient.

Alan committed a very terrible crime of blinding six horses one night. Surely there are reasons to lock him up in jail for the crime committed; however everybody doesn’t know why he would randomly blind six horses out of nowhere. He loves horses ever since he was a little child, works for a stable to be near horses, and tends to them very carefully. Martin saw him as a strange one, but wasn’t going to give up on the child.

There one hour appointments, at first like every patient, is hard to open up to, but through interaction between getting to know each other better, Martin saw progress into solving the mystery. However, the progress was quite slow, but got quite a bit of information from Alan’s parents, Frank and Dora. Frank told Martin about the certain dream he has. Martin caught notice and asked what the dreams were about. Frank told him that he would check on Alan at night to see a certain strange phenomenon where Alan is worshipping a god, and would mumble words.

Martin questioned Alan about his dreams, but found it to be hard to talk to him about nearly anything. He then used a psychological hypnosis mind trick on Alan to get him to reveal what exactly the dreams about. Which revealed that every three weeks, he would sneak into the stable, take out Nugget, one of six horses, and ride him in the middle of the night and try to reach and be one with Equus, supposedly to my own understand as the god of horses.

At this point, we learn about Alan’s strange obsession with horses which lead to the existence of a horse god, Equus. Yet when we relate the strange obsession between Alan’s attachments to horses and our own god, whoever it maybe, (Jesus, Allah, Krishna, Giant Spaghetti Monster, Pink Unicorn, Purple Oyster, and tons of other god names) let’s look at our own god and our strange events we do to please our god. Are we any different from what Alan does to please his sight of god? No, we aren’t.

Martin thinks about Alan’s case and sees that he must save him, a boy trapped in his mind; he needs to open up and talk to him. If he cannot get him to confess the events that lead to the blinding of six horses, nobody can. He knows that Alan wants to confess, but can’t since he is afraid. He can’t bare the guilt if he isn’t able to help Alan.

Martin tells Alan about a truth serum that will help Alan open up, he gives him a “special pill” and a cigarette to smoke. They smoke and wait until Alan is ready to talk. When he is finally ready to tell the story, he reveals that it all started when was with a person named Jill.

Alan and Jill were talking on about in a usual conversation which leads to watching an adult film at a theatre where they saw Alan’s dad surprisingly. Alan saw that most hard working men that come home late at night aren’t really working hard, but instead having their own twisted exotic pleasure. He felt disgusted to see even his own dad and decided to walk Jill home then go on the bus. As they walked home, Jill thought to go into the stable where the horses were well asleep. At that moment, Alan was hesitate and wanted to leave, but Jill wouldn’t let him.

Jill slowly seduced Alan into actually having sex right there in the stable. Jill slowly took off her close as Alan hesitantly did as well. As they were gently fondling each other, Alan was uneasy has he heard the horses. Jill said there was no noise and told Alan to relax. Again and again Alan heard the horses as Jill told him to relax. When it came to the point of intercourse, Alan panicked and freaked out, went insane, and picked up a knife and threatened Jill to leave or he would kill her.

Towards Alan’s vision he saw the horses, starring at him. They are surrounding him with their bright eyes for they saw shame upon Alan. He wanted them to leave, he wanted to have his way with Jill, but couldn’t because the horses were in the way. He couldn’t see Jill because the horses were blinding his view. And so he stabs each horse in the eye so they wouldn’t see, but the only person that was blind was himself.

Many were still confused for why he blinded the horses when it was all in his mind, but look at it this way. Would you have sex in a church? Would you want to let God see what you’re doing? I didn’t think so either. For Alan, the stable was like a church. It was incredibly uncomfortable for him just like it would be for anybody at a church. The Gods we praise has no body or face, but a horse is a horse, there is visualization of what the god would look like. And so, Alan attacked their eyes.

The cast had various people in it. Martin Dysart, the psychiatrist, was played by Richard Griffiths. Alan Strang, the 17 year old patient, was played by Daniel Radcliffe, who is famous for his film role as Harry Potter. The nurse is played by Sandra Shipley. Hesther Saloman was played by Kate Mulgrew. Frank Strang, Alan’s father, was played by T. Ryder Smith. Dora Strang, Alan’s mother, was played by Carolyn McCormick. The Young Horseman and the horse of Nugget was played by Lorenzo Pisoni, who is famous for several films such as “See Spot Run” and television shows like “All My Children.” Jill Mason is played by Anna Camp. The horses were actually people with horse helmets, which are played by Collin Baja, Tyrone A. Jackson, Spencer Liff, Adesola Osakalumi, and Marc Spaulding.

The performance was done alright. There were some parts that left me clueless because I had difficulty hearing. The crying scene with the mother felt a bit too forced. Several scenes I felt that maybe the characters should have a bit more motion while talking. Other then that, it was done well. The best parts were Alan’s scene with the horses, it was pretty powerful. The sound of his voice and the action may very well have stunned the entire audience. The action
on stage is set to have been at a psychiatric facility, however, as Alan and Martin are talking, back flashes and various scenes occur during their talk to give the audience the visual picture.

The language use is really toned to a more serious side then in a comedic way; however there are parts where comedy was shown from the psychiatrist. There were parts where seduction played its role in body language with the scene with Alan and Jill. We saw the Alan’s uncontrollable desire and action to tend to the horses in very loving way which some people found a bit odd.

The genre of the story is clearly a dark gloomy drama. The story is focused on Alan’s strange crime of stabbing six horses in the eye. Causing great stress toward his parents, the horse owner, the girl he has in contact with, and many more. There really is no way to describe it otherwise.

The set design was very basic. All they used was four rectangular blocks to set design to various environments. The associate set designer, Ray Huessy, and designer, John Napier, did a very cleaver job. Although it doesn’t seem much in the beginning of the play, the very basic setting gets interesting as we see a stable set in the background surrounding the set as well as a circular maneuverable stage in the middle. It was a big surprise to see such basic set for a play to turn into something more than four rectangular blocks.

The lighting for the play is done by David Hersey and Ted Mather. The lighting for the play I personally loved. The color changing between the scenes were done very well and were very believable. The most interesting part about the lighting was on the horse helmets. It really showed its value and richness toward the horses and how important they are in the story. I loved how well the light blended the environment to really make people believe they were truly there.

The sound is done by Gregory Clarke and Beth Berkeley. The only times the sound becomes a major role is during Alan’s horse scene. Even though there isn’t much interacting with sound enhancements, when the time came, it was amazingly powerful. Too in-depth that it touched the souls of everybody in the audience.

The movement direction is done by Fin Walker. There are times which I would like movement to occur, but when your in a psychiatric facility, it is basically a sit down and talk sequence. Though the movement is done well when it comes to the black flash scenes as well as when the story is moving forward as the action is being displayed in the background. Finally, the last set of scenes where we see Alan stabbing the horses as they all go crazy upon the stage.

The director, Thea Sharrock, clearly brung out the best in Peter Shaffer, the writer of Equus, work in this type of play. There isn’t any interaction with the audience in this play, but there wasn’t any need for that element to be part of the play.

The meaning of the story is generally the search for passion in contemporary life. We all have the need to belong, and thus we create gods that give us light, hope, and help us from
ourselves. However, there are many unique ways of doing this and so we see how serious people can get to achieve such a thing. We are all different, there really is no other way to explain it. Sometimes we would disagree with one another on how to achieve enlightenment and sometimes fight one another to prove who is right. However, we are thinking animals with ability to reason. We all have the power to accept another person’s belief and way of life and at the same time disagree.

My overall experience from watching this play is the sense to see that there is a choice in the belief of God to an extent where freedom of choice is truly achieved. Surely we all have our belief in the super natural, but to actually portray a choice on what God can really be is amazing. I didn’t expect God to be a horse and to show appreciation in such a way Alan did is unbelievable.

BTW, theatre plays are so expensive, but I got to meet Daniel(Mr. Potter) in more ways then one. x___x

LOST Review - Rescued Since Day One Letter

Dear World,

Here we are, going to aboard a plane on Oceanic Flight 815 from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, California. The interesting part of this whole experience is how everybody aboard this plane had a certain connection with one another before the tragedy occurred as we crash landed onto an island. We were regular people just living our lives, surviving on a daily basis for other peoples’ benefits.

And so we were stuck for over 80 days on an island uncharted to the world. The island looks ordinary, but there are far too many unknown events occurring on the island since day 1. We crash landed, around 40 survivors on one side of the island, a few more on the other side. We were in shock, trembling to even feel if this was real, even the feeling of being alive after a plane crash.

We did what we had to do to survive, organize and adjust to our new environment until rescue arrives. Day by day, we developed the ability to survive, find fresh water, and even kill boars for solid food. Not much to say really, it’s just like any other camp out movie. We find anything possible in order to make a living toward the next day.

Jack Shephard, a spinal surgeon, led everybody to work together and try to make the most of it. He is our leader on the island, whether he thought differently or not, he knew he was the heart of everybody. Constantly taking care of everybody as well as giving fairness within the surviving community. I didn’t know him very well or got to talk to him much, but when I did I told him I was thankful for him to be here to keep things from getting out of hand. He smiled and gave me a tap on the shoulder and walked off to his next task. He was constantly moving, I think he got close with Kate, the criminal who was going back to the USA to face imprisonment for killing her father. At first it kind of scared me to think she was a criminal, but she was very nice. Let’s not forget very pretty, she was quite the attractive one.

Sawyer, a con artist, was pretty much the lone wolf in this whole island. He usually looted most of the stuff from the wreckage from the plane and was very anal about “his” stuff. Anytime we were missing something, we would always go to him for the item and wanted to make deals in order to get them. The asshole, the douche bag, and the incredibly handsome Sawyer, real name started with a J I think. I usually asked him if I can look at an adult magazine and he would make me go out to get his food. It was pretty worth it.

There was a rumor that the island had native people on it, we called them the “others”. I really didn’t understand what they wanted, I thought so there are native people on this island; let’s ask them for help to get off. They had no intentions to let us off the island, in fact it’s still confusing to know who these strange people are. Out of nowhere, they would kill some of us, or kidnap us, I was really scared. Hurley, who is surprisingly a millionaire back home, thought to ask everybody who they were. I told him my name and everything, but then he announced that one of us among us isn’t on the flight manifest, the document that lists all the passengers on the plane. Ethan, a doctor for the “others” was spying on all of us. Not sure what happened there, I was too busy helping out on other things.

There is a lot I don’t know about, but what really got me spooked was John Locke. He was supposedly the second leader in this whole thing. He was looking at the sunset as I went to sit by him with a coconut drink. I asked him when he thinks the rescue boat will arrive. He said he doesn’t car anymore and that this island is the place he has been searching for. I asked him what he meant. He simply smiled and told me about his life was back in the real world. How he was told he had a father and how he planned and succeeded in stole his kidney and ruined his life. I felt bad. He then went on about how he was wheelchair bound after his father threw him off god knows how many floors of a large building and somehow survived. When he came to this island, he survived the plane crash and his legs started to move again. It was a total shock to me, a guy so popular among us, is actually a ruined wheelchair bound old guy who works at a Box Company. Here on this island, he is John Locke, second leader of the surviving tribe.

John Locke made me think my own existence. “Is it better to be LOST in society, or LOST in the world on this island?” Is my life really worth it here or in my dull existence in the USA? I developed so much on this island, skills, creativity, hunting, farming, and communication skills. Is the island my solution to all my life problems? Did the island rescue me from committing suicide? Is it telling me to live? I noticed that my health has gotten better here than where I lived. The final thing to think about is…do I really want to be rescued, when its already happened? Should I go back to my dull life of a job, school, and money, or live free on an island where I am actually useful?

The Day We All Worked To Hang Out

So, it was the middle of June or July, who the hell cares, it was in the summer. Me (Sidd) and Sanjay went to Middlesex County College and had did god knows what the hell, but as we were walking by, a very handsome young fellow with a sweet torso comes out of nowhere and asks us to help him in some campaign thing. Obviously I was going to ignore his ass, but then he said something about money and I payed attention. (Yes I know, I'm a two-bit two cent whore. keke! ^^)

So, the guy with the hot torso with blonde her was like, we need people to help put up door signs for this political campaign. I really don't know who the hell this politician was, I just wanted the money. Do this job and you get 75 bucks at the end of the day. So me and Sanjay were like, "Yea sure no prob."

So about a week or two pass and it was the day to work. We told Jeff like literally the day before about this whole "be a bitch and get 75 dollars at the end" thing. Then Jazz called like an hour before we went and was like "Yo bitches wtf you ppl doing today I'm off work." He called SJ and he told him about the whole thing and so Jazz tagged along.

And so, we went to the place where they told us to meet up, which was like near some train stop. The one near Berkley College, some white building. We were looking for parking and finally spotted one, but we saw a really confusing sign about the parking. No joke, it literally sounded like B.R. to me at the end. So we parked anyway to soon to learn we can't park there so Jazz went and parked on the other side of the world just so it was safe.

We were all lined up at the building, we were all dressed nice, but it was hot as balls. The line finally moved and we finally got a name of the polition we are working for, I think it was Lautenburg, but everybody said lumberg. Then we constantly made jokes and reference to Office Space. "Fukn Lumberg" "Who we working for again, luaten lumberg? lumberg right." "Lumberg SUX!!!" (seriously I heard that in the line.)

So we finally got into the damn building and made us sign stuff, and gave us lunch. People didn't really eat there meals, but I was chowing down and shit. Hell I took another person's lunch and ate that too.

So finally we got this random briefing on what the hell we are suppose to do. We were to go to specific houses, ring the door bell, and basically tell them something about Bush sux and vote for lumberg, and I was like, thats a little too extreme so I changed my lines. Also, we had to give this door handle ad thing with lumberg's name on it to vote.

So me and Jeff paired up, and SJ and Jazz paired up. We were bus number 3 I think, but not sure. We got on the bus and it was alright, we were being dropped off at our destination. The first stop came and two hot ass jail baits had to get out, as they were getting out, Jazz like yelled very fast "GET THE FUCK OUT!" As then we see people are like "huh, how rude" while me, SJ, and Jeff were literally holding our mouths with both hands laughing our asses off. Then eventually we all got dropped off.

Me and Jeff went about our routes and to give these random shyt out. So the first house we went to, I knocked on the door and said my line instead of the weird line that dork with glasses said to say. "Hi, we are with the lumberg campaign reminding you to vote." Not so bad, but then I got lazy and my line drifted from polite to "Hey this is a daily reminder to vote, pz." Then Jeff complained I was doing my crappy job wrong and it wasn't a daily reminder, I'm like, LOL WUT!?!?

Then this old guy kept us for fucking 10 minutes, I'm like bro, I ain't lumberg! And he shut the door. Then we had to go to houses with grumpy old ppl who were like "I don't give a fuck, get the fuck off my property you sick fucking liberal." Of course Jeff was on the other side and I was too tired about what just happened. Then there were signs. No something (meaning ppl that knock on doors and ask stuff). We did anyway for the hell of it, well I did, lol. Then we had to find houses that were non-existent >_>.

Was a pretty fun day, then the dude in the van came and was like yo, fuk the work, get in my van and lets chyll. So we did, and we picked up everybody else about one hour later. We were all in the back, me, Jazz, SJ, and Jeff. We were just bullshitting to pass time and eventually it was time to go home.

The Highlight of the Night Supposedly:

I was staring outside and I saw a house, and there were many freaking people there, I mean it was fucking packed. So, as I saw that, I shouted "Hey everybody look, a house party!"

SJ or Jazz was right behind me and quickly responded, "Sidd thats a funeral."

Everybody, including the driver laughed there asses off.

That day will always be remembered as the greatest day we worked and hanged out
to have loads of freaking fun.

And the question still remains, we still don't know who lumberg is :O

Suicidal Heroes - Sidd's First - Halo Machinima

Its been so many years that I had played Halo. I first started to play halo during my time in the 8th grade of middle school. I used to chill with a group of friends that I had back in kindergarton and stuff, I still try as much as possible to contact these people, but really can't find the time. Anyway, the person in this group who introduced me to Halo and the new generation of video games (xbox1) is Krishan. So, from then on, I was a Halo fanatic.

Because of Halo, I was able to have a hobbie to relate to at school with other students. I was able to socialize and talk about owning everybody was my goal. So I was invited to lan parties and it was all cool, but I noticed that I became an asshole, I would take this game so seriously. Then I noticed that I wasn't getting
invited to these Lan parties anymore. They said I kept winning, and people didn't like the asshole winning and talking smack because it made them feel like quitting. They then went on about how Halo is meant to be played. So these bunch of noobs told me that its all about having fun...together. And they walked off on me.

They were right, games are suppose to be for fun, so I played and tried to never go at it with my full potential, try to be beaten, or play for fun. It was more enjoyable that way and relaxing to lose. I quit Halo 1 afterwards and dwelled into
the realm of PT, but I played halo here and there.

I met Jeff through Halo, and thats what started that friendship. Bungie created a game not only to give us a great time, but to bond friendships that never would have even been possible. And so since we had common interest in video games, communication between us developed and here we are today, best friends.

(Same goes for everybody else, videogames is what started it all. Its the universal
hobbie we can all relate to.)

So, enough with the past, here we are in the present, Halo is still a part of my life and I can never forget what miracles its done for my social life. And so I take the very next step and to create a Halo Machinima. (Machinima is in-game based films, with actual story and dialogue, basically a movie but in game style format.)

Its short, but people are liking what I created. Hopefully there will be a another one soon that will "rox your sox off"! Its been entered into WeGame.com's August
Machinima Contest.

WANTED - Movie Review

“Tomorrow, the day after today, what is in store for me, who will I interact with, what is going to happen, when will the event go for, how will it affect my life in the long run, where will it take me? The answer is simple, it’s the same as what I did yesturday and the day before that. What is the point of living a re-run for the next fifty years until death. Doesn’t anybody trapped in this cycle wish to be just a little…different? You go by, day by day, wishing for a change, an escape from this normal bullshit of a life.” ~ Sidd

Wanted, a film directed by Timur Bekmambetov. The story about a normal average grown up sucker by the name of Wesley Gibson who is played by James McAvoy.He has all the bad things pouring down on him due to his incapability to fight for himself. His job is frustrating to the edge of his insanity because of his boss, Janice. His beautiful girlfriend uses him to live in his apartment while his best friend has sex with her. The life of a true sucker, being pushed around and taken advantage of by anybody.

However, there is always a chance for every sucker to take a stand and do something for once. Wesley was given an opportunity to get control of his life back, but in a very dangerous way to which reveals his father’s identity as a great assassin that has ever lived. His father was in an organization of assassins, The Fraternity, the weapons of fate.

Wesley was picking up his medication as usual to notice a man lurking near the end cap of an aisle. He looks as the man clears himself from view, and pops out the lovely assassin, Fox, who is played by Angelina Jolie, reveals how his father died, who he was, and who killed him. Wesley smiled and took it as a joke and then directed her to where the liquor was.

Fox continued to explain the situation and announced that the man that killed Wesley’s father was right behind him, she pushes Wesley to aim and fire a gun at Cross, the villain of the story, who is played by Thomas Kretschmann.

And so after the incident at the store, he is taken to the Textile Factory, the hideout for The Fraternity, where he was told he has super natural abilities and is born to be a true assassin like his father, they also mentioned everything his father owned is now his. Wesley was afraid of what he was being told; he threatens everybody to stay away from him and to leave him alone. The next morning he wakes up to think everything was a dream, but ends up dropping a gun that belonged to his father. He checks his balance at the bank to reveal 3 million dollars.

At work he acts like a changed man. For once he feels he is in control. He snaps at Janice and tell her to go fuck herself and takes a keyboard and smacks his best friend in the face. Walks out the door and sees wanted ads of him and Fox. He looks up to see Fox waiting for him and he gets into the car and drive off back to the Textile Factory.

The story continues from there, don’t want to spoil the surprises in the film, its worth watching, not for children however, mature audience only. The reason for that is because some people may feel offended by the ending, but the message clearly states your status of where and who you are as a person. I personally thought it was hilarious. All in all, 5 of 5 stars. Action, Story, Suspense, Twists, Great Acting, and most of all, a message to the audience to make us think after the movie.

LOST Season 1 – First Impression

So it’s a normal day, got places to run, people to meet, time is money, the dull society we live in today. Oh how will we survive in the world with all the chaos. Here we are in the airplane, listening to music, eating peanuts, somehow sleeping on board, or hell going to the bathroom. Suddenly…BAM! Airplane turbulence, fasten your seat belts quickly; we may die! Black out to wake up on an island, confused on how survival was a possibility. Aimlessly moving through the wreckage of a plane crash on the island beach. This is where it all begins, the story of LOST.

Basically, if you ever seen any survival movies about being trapped on an island like Cast Away, you will notice the basic and most obvious things happen. Organize, gather food, create shelter, survive until rescued. However, in the series LOST, we are taken on an unknown island filled with many surprises as the story unfolds. I would tell you those twists, but that will just spoil the show.

First few episodes seems to be about the island and the people struggling to get into living matter. Then it goes in depth and focuses on one main character per episode, as well as see the progress of survival on the island. Personally I think the series had a good start on getting the attention out with all the cliffhangers and twists. And finally, seeing the end result in every episode makes me want to watch the next one immediately.

Good series to watch, Sidd approves. :D

You Don't Mess with a Zohan - Movie Review

Well, this is yet another movie created by Happy Madison Production with your director Dennis Dugan. The writers are Adam Sandler, which also is the lead actor in the film, Robert Smigel, and Judd Apatow. This film is definitely not for kids and those that are offended by racial jokes. The target is mainly the mature audience that can take a joke without getting offended; at least that’s my opinion.

The story is about an Israeli counter terrorist, Zohan, who is the best of the best, the superman of Israeli (but he can’t fly, yet he can…yea I’ll not spoil that.) He is well known in his country and has everything he can possibly want, however what he didn’t have was his passion to style hair. During a mission with his arch enemy, The Phantom, he purposely faked his death and escaped to New York City to become a hair stylist.

Throughout the movie, he builds his character, meets new friend as well as old villains, tries to make his dream come true to be the best hairstylist, and finds true love in his life as well as in the community where the fighting between Israeli and Palestine continue where he works at. We all heard about the stories and wars between the two countries, creating a comedy film based on peace between two angered nations wouldn’t obviously be the solution, but at least a start to all the madness.

This movie was far out the funniest I’ve seen in Adam Sandler films, I really never laughed so hard. Most scenes in the movie are ultimately unexpected, especially with the old ladies! Let’s just say Zohan takes GILF or rather G-GILF hunting to the next level. (GILF – grandmother | GG – great grandma xD).

The music used in this movie are disco music and old school music we all used to listen to when our mom drove the car, which were pretty great when you think about it. I think I’m going to go through my old audio cassettes later on.

When I was watching it, I was laughing at all the jokes towards the Palestine and Israeli. Everybody was laughing at those jokes; however what Jeff noticed is when the jokes about the rednecks came, the only people laughing were at least 10% of the audience. I was too busy enjoying the film laughing my ass off to even notice that occurrence, but it’s pretty interesting on how the audience reacts isn’t it.

Overall, I give this movie a 5 out of 5 actually, I don’t care what others say, this is a must see movie. Great Job on making this film Happy Madison Production.
